I’ve come to better understand my own personal identity. I don’t see myself as filipino or white. I don’t feel like either of my races, by themselves, define who I am, and I don’t believe race should be the sole defining factor to any person. I’m lucky, hell, privileged enough to see the differences, the merits, the downfalls of whites and filipinos. And maybe because I don’t identify with anything as my race, I’m more comfortable adopting other cultures. And maybe because people upon first impression think I’m hispanic, I can mold into that too.
